Google mail adds IMAP support

After hearing about this a few days ago I’ve been checking my settings every time I check my e-mail to see if the IMAP support was added to my account and today it finally has been! Setting it up is really simple - all you have to do is enable the IMAP server in your account and configure your e-mail client with the appropriate settings. Now I can read through my e-mails offline, and synchronise any changes to Gmail!

Gmail adds IMAP support

I think this feature was primarily added for iPhone users, but I think it’s possibly one of the best things to be added to Gmail in months! Now all I want is for Google to sort out their contact management (with simple synchronisation)!

Since day one of having GMail I’ve wanted this. I’m so glad they have done it.

It is still a bit iffy with creating folders per tag/label. I would be great if clients understood labels/tags better. Oh well, sure someone will come up with the solution soon.
